About the emissions factors

Grid emissions factors are from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) 2024 data. Petrol combustion emits approximately 2.31 kg CO₂ per litre (AGA / NGERS methodology). As Australia's grid gets cleaner - SA is already close to net-zero on average - EV emissions will continue to fall without changing the car. If you charge with solar, your EV's effective grid emissions approach zero. Trees absorb approximately 21 kg CO₂ per year (conservative estimate).
