About Gridly
Independent comparison tools and guides for Australians buying EVs, home batteries, and EV chargers.
Gridly exists because buying an EV, a home battery, or a wall charger is genuinely hard. The market moves quickly. Prices change. Government rebates open and close. Manufacturer claims don't always match real-world performance.
What we cover
Three product categories, all for the Australian market:
- Electric vehicles — price, range, charging speed, running costs, and honest assessments of which cars suit which buyers
- Home batteries — installed costs, post-rebate pricing, efficiency, backup capability, and inverter compatibility
- EV chargers — home wall chargers, installation costs, solar diversion features, and the regulatory requirements that affect your install
How we research content
Every article on Gridly is built from primary sources: manufacturer Australian spec sheets, government program documentation, installer pricing surveys, and official sales data from the Electric Vehicle Council and FCAI. We don't copy from aggregator sites or reproduce press releases as fact.
Prices are dated when they're cited. EV and battery markets shift fast enough that a price from six months ago is often wrong. Where we've verified figures, we say so. Where we haven't, we flag it.
Statistics are attributed to their source with the year noted inline. You'll see references like "according to the Clean Energy Council's H1 2025 report" rather than floating numbers with no origin.
We answer the People Also Ask questions that actually come up for each topic, because those questions reflect what real buyers are confused about. When the honest answer is "it depends," we explain what it depends on rather than giving a false single answer.
How content is kept up to date
Every article carries a published date and a last-updated date. Articles with time-sensitive data — rebates, prices, new model launches — are reviewed every six months at minimum. Rebate pages are reviewed every July when most state programs update their terms.
If you spot something outdated or incorrect, use the contact page to let us know. We'll verify and correct it.
Who writes the content
Content is produced by the Gridly editorial team with expertise across the Australian renewable energy and EV sector. All content is reviewed for factual accuracy against primary sources before publication.
We don't use AI-generated content without human review and fact-checking. Every figure, price, and claim is verified against a named source before it appears on the site.
The comparison tools
The EV, battery, and charger comparison tools pull from a structured database that we maintain and update as products launch, change specs, or leave the Australian market. The tools let you filter and compare on the specs that actually matter for your situation — not just a list sorted by price.
If a product is on the comparison tool, it's available for purchase in Australia. We remove discontinued models from active comparison pages, though historical content may reference them.
Product links on Gridly go to manufacturer Australian websites or official distributor pages.
