About Gridly
Resources, comparison tools, and a network of vetted installers for Australian homeowners.
How we started
Gridly started as a resource site. We wanted to make it easier for Australians to compare EVs, home batteries, EV chargers, and heat pumps without wading through manufacturer jargon or outdated pricing.
We built comparison tools, wrote guides, and published honest reviews based on real Australian specs and pricing. That was the whole product for a while.
Why we added installation
As the site grew, we kept hearing the same thing: "I've picked a charger, now what?" People had done their research but didn't know where to find a reliable installer. So we started working with vetted electricians and suppliers to help people get products installed.
Now we do both. You can use Gridly to research and compare products, and when you're ready, we'll connect you with a vetted local installer who can get it done.
How the installer network works
Every installer we work with is a licensed electrical contractor (or licensed plumber for heat pumps), carries appropriate insurance, and has a track record of quality work. We don't just list anyone who asks.
When you check installation costs through Gridly, we match you with an installer in your area. They'll assess your property and provide pricing specific to your setup. It's free, and there's no obligation.
What we cover
- Electric vehicles - price, range, charging speed, running costs
- EV chargers - home wall chargers, installation costs, solar diversion
- Home batteries - installed costs, post-rebate pricing, backup capability
- Heat pumps - sizing, running costs, rebates
- Solar panels - system sizing, output, inverter matching
How we research
Everything on the site comes from primary sources: manufacturer spec sheets, government program documentation, installer pricing, and official sales data. Prices are dated. Stats are attributed. When something changes, we update it.
If you spot something outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
