Why Install a Home EV Charger?
Over 80% of EV charging happens at home. A dedicated 7 kW wallbox charges most EVs overnight for $3 to $5 at off-peak rates, compared to $15 to $25 at public DC fast chargers. A 3-pin plug works in a pinch but adds 8 to 10 km of range per hour versus 40 to 45 km/h from a wallbox.
