Perth network rules: Western Power
Most of Perth and the south-west is served by Western Power, which applies some of the strictest solar export limits in Australia. For many Perth homes that means a hard cap on how much surplus solar you can send to the grid. A battery turns that constraint into an advantage: instead of curtailing or exporting cheaply, you store the surplus and use it in the evening. The WA battery rebate
Perth buyers stack two incentives. The federal rebate takes about $250 per usable kWh off the first 14 kWh, roughly $3,800 on a 16 kWh SigenStor, applied at the point of sale. On top, the WA Residential Battery Scheme through Synergy offers up to $1,300 ($130 per kWh on the first 10 kWh of usable capacity), which requires joining a Virtual Power Plant.
